Angus

Angus cattle originated in the northeastern regions of Scotland, specifically in Aberdeenshire and Angus counties. They were first brought to the United States in 1873 by Sir George Grant, who imported four bulls to Kansas. The breed quickly gained popularity due to its excellent meat quality, leading to the formation of the American Angus Association in 1883, which is now the largest beef cattle registry in the world.
